Updating your home’s exterior is about more than just a fresh coat of paint – it’s about curb appeal and showcasing your personality. Summer is the perfect time to give your house a facelift, so we compiled a list of our top five favorite exterior paint colors for a refreshed look.

1. November Rain 2142-60 by Benjamin Moore

This pale beige is the perfect exterior neutral. White trim and porch railings pair well with this color. Use the Wedgewood Gray mentioned below on the front door to add interest. Touches of an olive green would also look great with this color.

2. Wedgewood Gray HC-146 by Benjamin Moore

This pale soft blue/green/gray color pairs well with white trim or the November Rain above. This shade is a great backdrop for lush green vegetation. Add an eye-catching pop of color with a bright red front door.

3. Dior Gray 2133-40 by Benjamin Moore

This is darker and more saturated gray than Wedgewood Grey, but has some of the same qualities. White trim with black touches on doors and shutters would create a dramatic yet timeless curb appeal.

4. Coventry Blue 4005-5C by Valspar

This blue makes you think of floating clouds and summertime. Light accent tones work well, but touches of a darker blue like Blue Sash by Valspar add depth and interest.

5. Collonade Gray SW 7641 by Sherwin Williams

This is a truly timeless gray. Use Panda White by Sherwin Williams for the trim. We recommend adding a pop of color on the front door – a bright red or sunny yellow.

One of our favorite brands is getting louder with their new campaign “Is It Still Paint?” Though we’re equal-opportunity paint lovers, we find that Benjamin Moore lines reflect the quality and longevity we’re looking for when we leave a room freshly colored. Their new marketing is trying to shift the consumer mentality to one closer to ours, as opposed to the idea that “paint is paint.” There are many other brands out there – Valspar, Behr and Sherwin Williams, just to name a few – but Benjamin Moore is looking to stand out on store shelves and home walls with a new spin on the commodity.

Teaming up with The Martin Agency, the paint brand is showing up in commercials, print ads, on the radio and even online in a new wave of advertising that’s aiming to help people seek out a brand, not just a color, when they choose their paint.

The new ads even have a spot for their allergy and asthma-friendly Natura brand, which we absolutely love in every room, but especially bedrooms and nurseries.

The subtle humor and striking images are the result of Thirtytwo from Pulse Films putting a directorial spin on the ads, known for large campaigns for brands like Puma, VW and Samsung.

What do you think – with everything Benjamin Moore paint can evoke, is it still paint?

Bring the Soothing Colors of the Spa into your Home or Business. Take a page out of a salon’s book – soothing colors and spa-inspired looks are the perfect way to still the hustle and bustle of daily life, both at home and in your business space. Serenity and a calm environment can be achieved with a little feng shui and some creative color choices.

Be intentional about the spaces that you live and work in – make sure everything has a place and purpose. Clutter can throw off the flow of a space, and eliminating stress and mess is the first step in creating a soothing living space or workplace.

Spas evoke a sense of quiet, calm and peace. While we typically associate the spa environment with cool blue watery colors and soft green earthy tones, warm and uplifting colors like deep orange or yellow can also help create unique spaces for relaxation and reflection.

Be mindful of other choices as well – harsh lighting can ruin the serenity of a space and uncomfortable furniture can have the reverse effect on someone looking to relax. Consider the full picture as you replicate a spa environment.
